General Terms and Conditions of Business of m:con - mannheim:congress GmbH for the purchase of tickets for congresses and events

I. Scope of application

The following Terms and Conditions of Business apply to agreements for the sale of tickets for congresses and events which are concluded with only the use of remote means of communication between m:con - mannheim:congress GmbH (referred to hereinafter as m:con) and the purchaser of tickets for congresses and/or events (referred to hereinafter as Customer). We hereby decline any counter-confirmations by the Customer which refer to the Customer’s own terms and conditions of business or purchase. Departures from the General Terms and Conditions of Business of m:con shall only be effective when they have been confirmed in writing by m:con.

Registration for selected events is also possible in written form (by fax, email or letter). Our General Terms and Conditions of Business are binding in these cases too.

Further terms and conditions of attendance applicable to specific events can be found on the congress website.

II. Conclusion of contract

By sending his/her registration, the Customer issues a binding order. The Agreement shall come about after the registration process when m:con has sent the invoice to the Customer.

III. Payment methods

Bank transfer: Please transfer the attendance fees free of charge to us only after you have received our confirmation/invoice. Please state your participant number and invoice number when making payment. The invoice will be sent to you by email.
The payment will be processed by our partner Computop. m:con will send you an invoice/confirmation by email.

IV. Withdrawal/cancellation

Deregistrations must take place in writing. For cancellations received by the m:con participant registration office up to four weeks before the start of the event, a processing fee of EUR 30 will be payable for each person registered; we regret that after this deadline no refund is possible.

If the attendance fee is lower than EUR 30 this fee will be retained or will still have to be paid despite the cancellation.
The full attendance fee must also still be paid if a registered participant does not attend the congress.

V. Alterations/cancellations

The event will only be held provided the minimum number of participants is achieved. m:con reserves the right to change speakers, change the time or place of events or cancel events, and make changes to the programme. If an event is cancelled any fees already paid will be reimbursed in full. Further compensation is excluded.

Chargeable courses/workshops: The number of participants on courses is limited. Offers of courses remain strictly subject to change, i.e. they should be regarded as an offer depending on the course places available. Registrations for all courses must be made in writing or via the Internet and are binding. Places on courses are allocated in the order in which the registrations were received. In the event of any over-booking you will be informed of this by the congress organisation.

VI. Other processing fees

For changes of name we charge a processing fee of EUR 10 per person. For corrections to invoices we charge a processing fee of EUR 20. Any special wishes with regard to invoicing must be indicated when registering.

Certificates of attendance/CME certificates are issued on the spot. For certificates produced and sent out later, we invoice a processing fee of EUR 10 per certificate. The certificate will only be sent out once we have received this processing fee.

Only certificates issued since 2011 can be reprinted.

VII. Liability

Neither the event organiser nor m:con accepts liability for losses, accident, personal damages or damage to property, whatever the cause. Participants and other persons accompanying them visit the congress and all associated events at their own risk and responsibility. The participant hereby notes that he/she cannot claim compensation from either the event organiser or m:con if the running of the congress is made difficult or hindered by political, economic or climate forces, or if the programme has to be changed due to speakers cancelling etc. By registering, the participant acknowledges these reservations.

VIII. Data privacy notice

m:con takes extensive precautionary measures to protect your personal details. Your details are handled in the strictest of confidence, stored in a secure environment and protected against unauthorised access. Only authorised employees are able to access them.

IX. Place of performance and place of jurisdiction

The place of jurisdiction for all legal disputes arising from this Agreement is Mannheim if the parties to the Agreement are merchants, legal entities under public law or special funds under public law, or if at least one of the parties to the Agreement has no general place of jurisdiction in the Federal Republic of Germany, or moves its domicile or normal place of residence from the Federal Republic of Germany after the conclusion of the contract or if its domicile or personal place of residence is not known at the time of commencing legal proceedings. m:con is also entitled optionally to take legal proceedings at the general place of jurisdiction of the Customer. The place of performance for all obligations from this Agreement is Mannheim.

X. Applicable law

Exclusively the law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies with the exclusion of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.

XI. Concluding clause

If one or more provisions of this Agreement should be or become fully or partially invalid, the remainder of the Agreement shall remain effective. Ineffective provisions must be replaced by provisions that come as close as possible to the Parties’ intention.
