Psychopathology is the best available tool to describe the behavioural correlates of mental disorders. Andrea Raballo has systematically worked on familiarising psychiatrists with training and beyond that with recent psychopharmacological terminology and its use in daily clinical routine. He will be referring to his “textbook of psychopathology” giving a frame for clinical phenomenology today. Wolfgang Gaebel will demonstrate that ICD-11 shows a better reliability for the most prevalent diagnostic entities proving the efficacy established diagnostic systems. RDoC was introduced to disentangle clinical symptomatology into transdiagnostic functional domains. Michel Rapp will give examples how RDoC can be implemented in research using large-scale cohorts. Nikolaos Koutsouleris will share a future perspective on biomarker development to improve diagnostics, theranostics and prognostics of mental disorders.
