Cesare completed an MSc Chem (Università di Bologna, Ita) and worked for 9 y in the pharma and biotech industry (UK) as a research scientist. He then completed a PhD at Victoria University (Aus) investigating exercise training-induced mitochondrial adaptations in human skeletal muscle (Prof D. Bishop’s lab). After 4 y at Monash University (Aus) investigating diabetes-induced mitochondrial alterations in human and rodent kidney, he is now working in Prof M. Roden’s group at the DDZ (Düsseldorf)
