Originally trained in biotechnology, she is also a Doctor of Medical Sciences, and was Adjunct Professor in translational medicine at Aarhus University, Denmark from 2015-2020, and worked in Oxford in 2021. She has worked for Novo Nordisk for 30 years and has been involved in the GLP-1 area for more than 25 years as a scientist, working with drug discovery, pharmacology and clinical study designs. Lotte was responsible for inventing liraglutide, and has published numerous papers on GLP-1, liraglutide, semaglutide, mode(s) of action, toxicology, and receptor expression.
