General Terms and Conditions
General Terms and Conditions of m:con - mannheim:congress GmbH (hereinafter referred to as m:con) for the purchase of congress and event tickets for events organised by m:con, as of 29 October 2025.
For reasons of better readability, the simultaneous use of masculine, feminine and diverse (m/f/d) language forms is dispensed with in the following. All references to persons apply equally to all genders.
Section A regulates the general provisions that always apply. Section B also applies if tickets are purchased via remote communication (online). Section C applies if tickets are purchased on site at the counter.
The following terms and conditions of the organiser apply exclusively. Any counter-confirmations by the customer with reference to their own terms and conditions of business or purchase are hereby rejected. Deviations from the General Terms and Conditions are only effective if they have been confirmed in writing by m:con - mannheim:congress GmbH.
A direct contract is concluded between the organiser and the customer.
By submitting their registration, the customer places a binding order (offer) and declares that they are bound to their offer for 5 working days.
Within this acceptance period, m:con is entitled to check the information received. In the event of rejection of the offer, a corresponding notification will be sent. If the offer is accepted, an order confirmation/invoice will be sent. If the information provided is incomplete or if required information is missing, e.g. proof of eligibility for a reduced rate, a request for additional information will be sent. In the latter case, the acceptance period is extended by a further 5 working days.
The necessary proof and memberships for the applicability of a reduced rate must always be valid at the time of the conference; the status at the time of registration is not sufficient.
The following payment methods are available: SEPA direct debit, credit card (American Express, Mastercard and Visa) and/or prepayment by bank transfer.
The total price of the order, including any fees and statutory VAT, is due for payment immediately after conclusion of the contract for credit card and SEPA direct debit payment methods.
Notwithstanding this, if paying by bank transfer, the total price must be transferred in full to the account specified in the invoice by the date stated in the invoice, quoting the invoice number. The customer must ensure that the final amount of their order can be booked without deduction, i.e. any bank and/or transfer fees incurred are to be borne by the customer. The information required for the transfer (invoice number, bank details) is shown on the invoice. The invoice is sent by email.
Payment processing for SEPA direct debits and credit cards is handled by the payment service provider Computop Wirtschaftsinformatik GmbH, Schwarzenbergstr. 4, D-96050 Bamberg.
Irrespective of the provisions of the right of withdrawal under Section B, I (only for the purchase of tickets via remote communication means), there is a contractual right to cancel an order. Cancellations must be made in writing and sent to
m:con – mannheim:congress GmbH
Rosengartenplatz 2,
68161 Mannheim,
dk.registrierung@mcon-mannheim.de
If the cancellation is received up to four weeks before the start of the event, a processing fee of EUR 30 plus applicable VAT will be charged for each registered person; after this date, no refund will be possible.
If the customer is a consumer within the meaning of Section 13 of the German Civil Code (BGB) and exercises their right of withdrawal within the withdrawal period to which they are entitled in accordance with Section B, I, no processing fee will be charged.
If the price of the tickets is less than EUR 30 plus applicable VAT, this amount will be retained or must still be paid in the event of cancellation.
The full ticket price is also payable if a registered customer does not show up.
The event will only take place if a minimum number of participants is reached. The organiser reserves the right to replace speakers, relocate or reschedule events, or cancel them, and to make changes to the programme. If an event is cancelled, any fees already paid will be refunded in full.
For events involving fee-based courses/workshops, the number of participants in the courses is limited. The courses offered are generally subject to change, i.e. they are to be understood as an offer within the scope of the available course places. Registrations for all courses must be made in writing or via the Internet and are binding. Course places will be allocated in the order in which registrations are received. Customers will be notified in the event of overbooking.
Tickets are personalised. A processing fee of EUR 10 plus applicable VAT per person will be charged for name changes.
A processing fee of EUR 20 plus applicable VAT will be charged for corrections to invoices. Special requests regarding invoicing must be communicated at the time of registration.
Where applicable, certificates of attendance/CME certificates will be issued on site. A processing fee of EUR 10 plus applicable VAT per certificate will be charged for the subsequent creation and dispatch of certificates. The certificate will only be created and dispatched once this processing fee has been received.
The organiser and m:con shall only be liable – regardless of the legal basis – for damages resulting from intentional or grossly negligent breaches of duty. The organiser and m:con shall also be liable for damages resulting from injury to life, limb or health in the event of slightly negligent breaches of duty.
In the event of a breach of essential contractual obligations, the organiser's liability shall be limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract, unless there is intent or gross negligence or liability for injury to life, limb or health.
The above exclusions and limitations of liability also apply to breaches of duty by organs, vicarious agents or assistants of the organiser and m:con.
The above paragraphs also apply to the liability of vicarious agents and assistants of m:con or the respective organiser.

The events are held at the Congress Center Rosengarten Mannheim or other event venues by m:con itself or managed as a service provider for another organiser.
The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(a), (b) and (f) of the European General Data Protection Regulation. Processing is always carried out in relation to the specific purposes described.
When collecting data, extensive precautions are taken to protect your personal data. Your data is treated as strictly confidential, stored in a secure environment and protected against unauthorised access. Only authorised employees have access to it.
Further information can be found in the privacy policy, which can be viewed during the online registration process, in the footer of the website or at the counter for on-site bookings.

The place of jurisdiction for all legal disputes arising from the contract is Mannheim if the contracting parties are merchants, legal entities under public law or special funds under public law, or if at least one of the contracting parties does not have a general place of jurisdiction in the Federal Republic of Germany, or if, after conclusion of the contract, they move their place of residence or habitual abode outside the Federal Republic of Germany, or if their place of residence or personal abode is unknown at the time the action is brought. m:con is also entitled to bring legal action at the customer's general place of jurisdiction. The place of performance for all obligations arising from this contract is Mannheim.
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply exclusively, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
Should one or more provisions of this contract be or become invalid in whole or in part, the remainder of the contract shall remain valid. Ineffective provisions shall be replaced by provisions that come closest to the purpose intended by the parties.

Section B also applies to the purchase of congress and event tickets for events (or parts thereof) via means of distance communication.
If the customer is an entrepreneur within the meaning of Section 14 of the German Civil Code (BGB) and wishes to withdraw from the contract, the provisions of the General Section on Cancellation (Section A, IV) shall apply.
In the event that the customer is a consumer within the meaning of § 13 BGB, the following cancellation policy applies:
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the date of conclusion of the contract.
To exercise your right of cancellation, you must inform us,
m:con – mannheim:congress GmbH
Rosengartenplatz 2,
68161 Mannheim
dk.registrierung@mcon-mannheim.de
by means of a clear statement of your decision to withdraw from this contract. You can use our pre-printed withdrawal form for this purpose, but this is not mandatory.
To comply with the withdrawal period, it is sufficient that you send the notification of your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the expiry of the withdrawal period.
Consequences of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse you for all payments we have received from you, including delivery costs (with the exception of additional costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the cheapest standard delivery offered by us), without delay and at the latest within fourteen days of the day on which we receive notification of your withdrawal from this contract. We will use the same means of payment for this refund as you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise with you. In no event will you be charged for this refund.
We may refuse to refund until we have received the goods back or until you have provided proof that you have returned the goods, whichever is earlier. You must return or hand over the goods to us immediately and in any case no later than fourteen days from the day on which you notify us of your withdrawal from this contract. The deadline is met if you send the goods before the expiry of the fourteen-day period. You shall bear the direct costs of returning the goods. You shall only be liable for any loss in value of the goods if this loss in value is attributable to handling by you that is not necessary for testing the condition, properties and functionality of the goods.
Exclusion of the right of withdrawal
According to Section 312g (2) sentence 1 BGB, there is no right of withdrawal or the right of withdrawal expires prematurely in the case of the following contracts:
Contracts for the provision of services in the areas of accommodation for purposes other than residential purposes, transport of goods, motor vehicle rental, delivery of food and beverages, and the provision of other services in connection with leisure activities, if the contract provides for a specific date or period for the provision of services, Section 312g (2) sentence 1 no. 9 BGB.
